Building Friendships for life strikes again!
We received a great referral from a plan designer we have enjoyed working with over the years. Our clients live in an adorable early 1900s home in Seattle. So much original character! Unfortunately, with old character comes old materials with issues. The home owners had already met with a plan designer to come up with a more opened-up layout and a functional basement. The plan designer referred them to our office. We met them in their home and we all knew it would be a great project to work together on.
The goals included creating as much open space as possible on the main floor with a large more functional kitchen. With updating all the finishes with new materials, it was important to keep a some of the original character of the home. The clients “nailed it” with the vision to keep all the boxed ceiling details and carry it into the kitchen with a new vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is new, modern and amazing!
The materials installed on this project were so perfect for these home owners: modern quartz, new lighting, new Thermador & KitchenAid appliances, new flooring, windows, paint…so basically everything! The old basement was even brought to life! The basement is now fully useful to include a new rec room, ¾ bathroom and oversized laundry room! Even the exterior had a lot of updates; new roof, siding, trim, windows and paint.
So, what was our favorite change? There were so many new details with this home it’s hard to specify a favorite. We would have to say we really loved how the new basement fireplace details came together. Be sure to look for the photos.
